About the writer: Diana Barnes, BA (Hons), MA, Dip. Ed., PhD, has taught English at the University of Melbourne from 1991-2002 and Communications and English Literature at RMIT. Her field of research is 16th- and 17th-century English literature. She is especially interested in the novel, poetry, film and drama (particularly Shakespeare). She currently works as a writer and researcher in Hobart, Tasmania.
