The Junior English Skills titles are workbooks that teach junior years students the fundamentals of grammar, punctuation, spelling and vocabulary. Written by a highly experienced English teacher and editor, they cover the foundations of English and are designed to give students a strong knowledge base for their future studies.
Each title is divided into 26 units. Each unit targets a specific English skill and includes explanations of key terms and concepts, structured examples to guide students, and short-answer and extended response questions to test students’ understanding.
Topics covered by the books include the fundamentals of grammar, such as subject-verb agreement and conjunctions; the basics of vocabulary-building, such as synonyms and antonyms; and the principles of punctuation, including commas, apostrophes and quotation marks. The books feature varied activities, from fill-in-the-gap exercises and multiple-choice questions to comprehension and extended-response questions.
