Start with the mindset shift.
Struggling with a problem isn’t a sign you’re bad at maths. It’s proof your brain is rewiring itself. Learn the rule and trust it applies everywhere.
You don’t always need to understand the deep theory behind why a maths rule exists. You just need to know the rule and know that it works the same way every single time. Once you’ve got that, you can apply it anywhere. That consistency is your superpower.
Practice in small, regular doses.
Cramming the night before doesn’t work neurologically. Spacing your practice over time actually strengthens your memory. Research on spaced repetition shows that when you learn in intervals, your brain consolidates memories more effectively. Even fifteen minutes a few times a week beats four hours in one sitting.
The real truth? Maths rewards effort more reliably than almost any other subject. Put in consistent, focused practice, know how the rules work every single time, and the rest follows. You’re not ‘not a maths person’. You’re just someone who hasn’t yet trusted the process
